USP Solutions’ new NFC device can measure skin hydration with more accuracy and flexibility than traditional single probe sensors. This skin moisture assessment using hydration sensor patches coupled with smartphones via Near Field Communication (NFC) has been developed especially for the beauty industry.

The device uses a sensor patch on a smartphone itself, without the need for additional sensors to measure skin moisture. The probe is pressed to the skin for a few seconds where the application immediately calculates the capacitance value.
